Information we process

ResumeChat processes account information, résumé content, job descriptions, generated résumés, chat history, and information you choose to include such as contact details, work history, education, projects, skills, certifications, links, and an optional profile photo.

Passwords are stored as password hashes, not readable passwords. Payment records contain Razorpay order and payment identifiers; ResumeChat does not store complete card or bank-account details.

How information is used

We use this information to authenticate your account, extract résumé content, tailor résumés to a selected job description, calculate match estimates, generate exports, save your requested chat history, provide support, prevent abuse, and administer subscriptions.

ResumeChat does not sell personal information or use résumé content or browsing activity for personalized advertising.

Service providers

• OpenAI processes résumé text, job descriptions, and related instructions when AI extraction or tailoring is requested.
• Vercel hosts the web application and provides website analytics and operational infrastructure.
• PostHog receives limited product-usage events from the Chrome extension only after a user opts in. Events are linked to a pseudonymous account identifier and exclude résumé text, job descriptions, names, email addresses, employer names, job titles, visited URLs, and profile photos.
• Razorpay processes subscription payments.
• Resend and the configured email provider deliver feedback and support messages.
• The configured PostgreSQL provider stores accounts, saved chat sessions, résumé data, usage status, and feedback.

Chrome extension behavior

The extension reads the active page only after you open or invoke ResumeChat. It does not continuously monitor browsing history. A reusable profile may be stored in your Chrome profile. Standard logout preserves that local profile; “Logout & clear local data” removes the locally saved profile and generated résumé.

Storage and deletion

Saved chat sessions and résumé data remain in the active account database until you delete the session or account, or until they are removed for security, legal, or operational reasons. Temporary uploaded files are processed in memory and are not intentionally written to permanent file storage by the upload endpoint.

You may delete individual saved sessions from ResumeChat. Account deletion permanently removes the account and associated active-database chat and résumé records. Service-provider backups may remain for their normal limited backup lifecycle.

Security and choices

We use HTTPS, HTTP-only authentication cookies, access controls, input limits, and password hashing. No online service can guarantee absolute security. You may disable optional analytics, clear extension data, delete saved sessions, or delete your account.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
